9.0 Provisioning a New Business Service

The following tasks walk you through the provisioning process for a new business service. All user, sponsor, and administrator tasks are covered.

Create a request

User

A business service must be requested. The request defines the contract period for the business service as well as the workloads and their service levels.

Submit the request

User

After a request is created. It must be submitted for approval by a Novell Cloud Manager administrator and the requestor’s business group sponsor.

Approve the request

Administrator

If auto-approval is not enabled, a Novell Cloud Manager administrator must manually approve the request.

Approve the request

Sponsor

If auto-approval is not enabled, the requestor’s business group sponsor must approve the request.

Pre-configure workloads

Administrator

After approval, the process is paused to give you an opportunity to perform any pre-build configuration tasks for the workloads.

Build the workloads

System

The Novell Cloud Manager system builds the business service workloads.

Post configure workloads

Administrator

After approval, the process is paused to give you an opportunity to perform any post-build configuration tasks for the workloads.

Deploy the business service

System

The Novell Cloud Manager system deploys the business service for use by the requestor.
