NetIQ Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Web-based password management solution. It eliminates the users’ dependency on administrators to change their passwords. It reduces the workload of the helpdesk and in turn reduces the cost incurred by the company. Users can change their password and reset forgotten password based on the configured challenge-responses. SSPR also allows administrators to ensure that all passwords in the organization comply with the established policies.
This hotfix resolves specific previous issues. This document outlines why you should install this hotfix.
For the list of new features, enhancements, and software fixes in the previous release, see Self Service Password Reset 3.0 Release Notes.
This release addresses defect fixes and contains no enhancements or new features. The following is the list of software fixes that resolve several previous issues:
A space in the standard helpdesk challenge question resulted in the following error:
Please add an additional random response.
(Bug 833427)
When users change their password, SSPR sends an email to the user indicating that they changed their password. Option to disable sending this email was not available. (Bug 834663)
When a user requests for a URL, SSPR first sends the request for authentication and then redirects the user to the original requested URL. But, after the form based authentication, SSPR was not redirecting the user to the requested URL. (Bug 833396)
The helpdesk Idle Timeout setting was not getting applied for a helpdesk-user through the Helpdesk module. The idle timeout was taking the timeout value applied to regular users.(Bug 838523)
When a user tried to include lower case letters in the password more than the permissible number configured in the password policy, SSPR displayed an incorrect error message stating New password has too many upper case letters instead of displaying New password has too many lower case letters. (Bug 838910)
When users, using NMAS stored responses, enters their username, SSPR displayed the list of questions, but SSPR was not allowing the user to answer the questions. (Bug 839095)
In eDirectory 8.8 SP 8, the Root DSE vendorVersion attribute value has been changed from Novell eDirectory to NetIQ eDirectory. As a result, SSPR did not correctly auto-detect eDirectory and therefore eDirectory-specific features were not working in SSPR.
(Bug 841637)
Clicking Go Back on the Confirm Responses page was resulting in NullPointerException.
(Bug 841676)
After setting Helpdesk Enable Unlock to false, the Continue button did not appear on the Helpdesk Details page.
(Bug 841724)
When SSPR was opened with Internet Explorer 8, the SSPR Login button and the Main Menu icon were occupying full width of the page and resulted in bad display.
(Bug 841726)
