To upgrade Security Agent for UNIX prior to 7.5 versions, you must use UAM only.
To upgrade Security Agent for UNIX 7.5 and later, in addition to UAM, you can now use CG AM. However, if you do not plan to enable the agent for Change Guardian, you can use only UAM. In deployments where you have agents enabled for Sentinel or SCM along with Change Guardian, you can decide whether to use UAM, CG AM, or both to upgrade and manage agents. For more information, see Table 1-1.
If you plan to use CG AM to upgrade and manage agents installed through UAM, you must first perform the following tasks:
Ensure that the Change Guardian server version is 5.0 or later (including all agents and policy editor clients). For more information, see Change Guardian Documentation.
Upgrade UAM and the agents installed in UAM are at least on 7.5 version. For more information, see Upgrading UAM and Upgrading Security Agent for UNIX 7.4 to 7.5
Migrate hosts from UAM to CG AM. For more information see, Section 5.0, Migrating Hosts from UAM to CG AM
Upgrade Security Agent for UNIX to 7.5.1 or later using CG AM. For more information see, Upgrading Security Agent for UNIX 7.5 to 7.5.1
