NetIQ Identity Console 1.7 Service Pack 1 Release Notes

NetIQ Identity Console 1.7 Service Pack 1 (1.7.1) added various new features and resolved several previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. 1.0 What’s New

Identity Console 1.7 Service Pack 1 provides the following updates in this release:

1.1 Operating System Support

Identity Console 1.7 Service Pack 1 adds support to the latest operating systems:

For the standalone:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.8 and 9.2.

  • SLES15SP5

For the Docker:

  • Open SUSE 15.4.

1.2 Supported Browsers

Identity Console 1.7 Service Pack 1 supports the latest version of the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome.

  • Mozilla Firefox.

  • Microsoft Edge.

1.3 New Features

This release of the Identity Console comes with the following new features:

eMBox Client

By Configuring RAC in Identity Console (version 1.7 Service Pack 1 onwards), you can perform eMBox tasks remotely using the eMBox Client.

The eMBox Client is a command-line Java client that gives you access to tools such as backup, restore, tree repair, merge, sync, and so on. You can also configure roll-forward logging for multiple servers from a single machine if you have access behind the firewall or through a VPN.

External Applications

The External Application is a new feature that helps the Administrators or Role Associated members to launch an externally configured application (that is configured with OSP). The functionalities can be accessed by the users directly from the home page of the Identity Console.

1.4 Software Fixes

Identity Console 1.7 Service Pack 1 includes the following software fixes:

DNS Name: Subject Alternative Name with Numbers

The Add Subject Alternative Name field can manage names that contain numbers. Modified the Regex Expression for DNS valid format so that it can accept a number in any location, except at the starting. (Defect: 683001)

Refined Password Expiry Message

The login error message that is intended for the users when their password is expired, is corrected to give full information to the user. (Defect: 496060)

Addition of New Calendar Icon for Japanese and Chinese Versions

A calendar icon is added in Identity Console for Japanese and Chinese Versions. Users can now set the Effective Date and Expiration Date. (Defect: 684001)

The Password for the pfx File is Stored Safely

Enhancement has been done to safely store the password for the pfx file, so, the password is no longer displayed in the Command line column in Task Manager. (Defect: 587053)

Dynamic Query Settings are Enhanced

The option to save a user is added in Dynamic query settings when you add or update dynamic query. (Defect:613012)

Improved Search Objects in Context Browser

Identity Console schema is enhanced to avoid the 649 errors in eDirectory while searching Objects in Context Browser. (Defect:658029)

Nested Groups are Removed When you Remove a Group from a User

The application code is enhanced to ensure that when you remove a Group from a User, the Identity Console removes Nested Groups successfully. (Defect: 695017)

2.0 Installing or Upgrading

Log in to the Software License and Download page and follow the instructions provided on the page to download the software. NetIQ provides a tar.gz or .zip file to install Identity Console.
