13.7 Managing the Distributed Setup Configuration

13.7.1 Editing the Search Target Server Details

  1. Log in to the search initiator as a user in the administrator role.

  2. Click Search Setup in the toolbar.

  3. Select the Search Targets tab.

    A list of search target servers is displayed under the Search Targets list.

  4. Click the Edit link for the search target server for which you want to modify the details., then edit the information.

    Do not change the IP address unless the IP address of the search target server has actually changed. The Edit page is not intended to allow you to change this target server entry to be a different search target server. To add a new target server, see Section 13.2.2, Using the Administrator Credentials to Add a Search Target Server. If you accidentally change the IP address or DNS name to a different server, change it back to the correct server, or authentication of search requests fails.

  5. (Optional) To change the proxy role on the target server as necessary:

    1. Click View/Change.

    2. Log in to the target server.

    3. Select a proxy role, then click OK.

  6. Click Save.

13.7.2 Disabling or Deleting a Search Target Server

  1. Log in to the search initiator server as a user in the administrator role.

  2. Click Search Setup in the toolbar.

  3. Select the Search Targets tab.

    A list of target servers is displayed under the Search Targets list.

  4. To disable searching events on the target server, deselect the Enabled check box next to the server you want to disable as a search target.

  5. To delete a server from the list, click the Delete link for the target server that you want to delete.

    A message is displayed, asking you to confirm whether you want to delete the selected configuration.

  6. Click Delete to confirm deletion.

13.7.3 Editing the Search Initiator Server Details

  1. Log in to the target server as a user in the administrator role.

  2. Click Search Setup in the toolbar.

  3. Select the Authorized Searcher Initiators tab.

    A list of authorized search initiators is displayed.

  4. Click the Edit link for the target server for which you want to modify the details, then edit the information.

  5. Click Save.

13.7.4 Disabling or Deleting a Search Initiator Server

  1. Log in to the target server as a user in the administrator role.

  2. Click Search Setup in the toolbar.

  3. Select the Authorized Searcher Initiators tab.

    A list of authorized search initiators is displayed.

  4. Click the Delete link for the search initiator that you want to delete.

    A message is displayed, asking you to confirm whether you want to delete the selected configuration.

  5. Click Delete to confirm deletion.
