18.2 Properties of an Exception

When creating an exception, you can specify the following properties:

Name

Required

Specifies the unique name of the exception.

Enabled

Specifies whether the exception is in effect. This property applies only when you create the exception within an assessment report.

Reason

Required

Provides a rationale for applying the exception.

The Web console includes several default reasons or you can create your own.

Occurrence

Required

Specifies the date range during which the exception will be applied.

(Optional) If you use the batch method for creating and editing an exception, you can specify up to five occurrences. You can also specify that the date ranges Repeat for the next one to five years.

Approval status

Specifies whether the endpoint is approved, not approved, or awaiting approval.

In some organizations, exceptions must be approved before they can go into effect in an assessment report.
