You should routinely refresh details about your target containers before setting up or executing a migration job.
PlateSpin Migrate Web Interface enables you to refresh the discovered resources for virtual and cloud target containers:
Amazon Cloud Region
Microsoft Azure Location
VMware DRS Cluster
VMware ESX Server
VMware vCloud Organization
When you refresh the target, its associated resources are automatically rediscovered and updated. You can refresh one container at a time.
To refresh details for a target container:
In the PlateSpin Migrate Web Interface, click Targets.
Select a target.
Click Refresh.
Expand the panels for the associated resources to view the changes.
Migrate Client allows you to refresh target details for containers discovered using the Migrate Client:
Physical servers
VMware DRS clusters
VMware ESX servers
Microsoft Hyper-V virtual hosts
All Linux KVM and Xen virtual hosts
PlateSpin Image servers
To refresh target details:
In the Servers view, right-click the required item, then select Refresh Details.
Specify the credentials appropriate for the system being refreshed, then click Refresh.
PlateSpin Migrate starts a discovery job, which you can monitor in the Jobs view.
If you discover ESX hosts through a vCenter Server, all subsequent communications with these VM hosts take place through the vCenter Server.
You can reset this access mechanism to Direct to ESX or back to Via vCenter:
Refresh the required ESX host.
See Refresh Target Details in Migrate Client.
The system prompts you to select an access type:
Select the required option, then click Refresh.
PlateSpin Migrate rediscovers the required ESX host by using the specified access mechanism, which it uses for all subsequent communications with that host.
