2.8 Checking SNMP Adapter Status

The condition of the SNMP adapter is visually indicated in the Explorer pane, as shown in Figure 2-1:

The colored icons indicate the status of the adapter. You can tell at a glance if the adapter is up and running (green), or if some other status is indicated. Table 2-1 lists the color codes for adapter status.

Color

Description

Red

The status of the associated element is CRITICAL.

Orange

The status of the associated element is MAJOR.

Yellow

When the adapter is in the process of starting or stopping, the status is MINOR.

Blue

The status of the associated element is INFORMATIONAL.

Green

When the adapter is started and running, the status is OK.

Gray

When the adapter is stopped, the status is UNKNOWN.

Brown

The status of the associated element is UNMANAGED.

To hide or display the condition indicators:

Right-click the Explorer pane background, then select Show Condition Indicators to hide or display the indicators.
