8.2 Moving or Copying CIs, Searches, and Reports into a Community

Because myWorkspace is a private area useful for the development of CIs, searches, and reports, items eventually need to be pushed into production. myWorkspace CIs, searches, and reports can be moved into a different community or copied into one or more communities.

Any item can be copied or moved from one community to another by Section 6.2, Copying, Moving, or Linking Objects. Also, when you mark something as a favorite, you’ll have the option to link, move, or copy an item.

Depending on the type of item, there are a couple different methods for creating items using myWorkspace templates. For more information about moving items from myWorkspace into a community, see Section 6.2, Copying, Moving, or Linking Objects.

There might be various CIs or CI structures that are common among your various communities. If this is the case, create the container CIs (parent CI with a structure of child CIs), then use Copy As (or the Copy function in Drag and Drop) to push these CIs into production or into an active community. After you duplicate, you can edit the CIs to update specific properties unique for your items and communities.
