D.2 System Requirements

To use PowerShell cmdlets, the following must be installed and running on the Active Directory driver computer:

Identity Manager AD Exchange service

NOTE:In Exchange Server 2007 environments, the name of the service file is IDMEx2007Service.exe. In Exchange Server 2010 environments, the name of the service file is IDMEx2010Service.exe. In Exchange Server 2013 environments, the name of the service file is IDMPowerShellService.exe.
Microsoft Exchange Server Management Tools

For information about installing the Identity Manager AD Exchange service, see Section C.2.2, Installing the Service, Section C.3.2, Installing the Service, or Section C.4.2, Installing the Service, depending on the version of Exchange installed in your environment.

Download and install the latest versions of Microsoft Exchange Server Management Tools from the Microsoft Website.

NOTE:

Microsoft Exchange Server Management Tools are required even if you do not use Exchange in your environment.
Identity Manager only supports using PowerShell cmdlets for Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange with Windows PowerShell 2.0 or later. Identity Manager does not support using cmdlets from previous versions of PowerShell to manage Active Directory and Exchange. However, Identity Manager supports existing Exchange provisioning functionality using previous versions of PowerShell.
