Certificates

  • You must obtain a server certificate in pfx format. This server certificate must always be named keys.pfx. For more information, see Creating a Server Certificate Object.

  • From OpenText Identity Console 1.7.2 onwards users can generate Server Certificate during the installation process.

  • From OpenText Identity Console 1.9 onwards, by default, the auto fetching of CA certificate is enabled as true.

  • To manually fetch the CA certificate, you must obtain a CA certificate for all trees in.pem format to validate the CA signature of the server certificates obtained in the previous step. This root CA certificate also ensures establishing a secured ldap communication between the client and the OpenText Identity Console server.

  • From OpenText Identity Console 1.7.2 onwards users can import CA Certificate (SSCert.pem) by providing IP address and port information during installation process.

NOTE:If the Windows server has multiple domain or admin accounts, only one administration can install and access OpenText Identity Console, provided that OpenText eDirectory is also installed on the same machine.

Once you are ready, proceed with installing OpenText Identity Console. For more information, see Installing OpenText Identity Console Workstation on Windows.
