1.0 What’s New

This release supports the service account to access the GPR Security Management node.

If the Console is opened using the service account, the GPR Security Management node is displayed. This enables the GPA service account and GPR_REPOSITORY_MANAGEMENT group members to manage GPR Security.

IMPORTANT:We are supporting the ODBC database connection and stopped supporting the OLEDB database connection from this release.

The following OLEDB connection string should be replaced with the ODBC connection string:

"PROVIDER = SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Initial Catalog=GPO_REPOSITORY;Data Source=<SQL Server Instance Name>;Use Procedure for Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Workstation ID=<>;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when possible=False"

ODBC connection String:

("DRIVER={ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server};SERVER="<SQL Server Instance Name>”;Trusted_Connection=Yes;DATABASE=GPO_REPOSITORY;")

2.0 Installing This Version

To install this version, run Setup.exe on each GPA server, GP Repository, and GPA console computer.

For more information about how to install or upgrade GPA, see the user guide on the Group Policy Administrator documentation Web site.

IMPORTANT:GPA now requires the following prerequisite versions:

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Package (x86 and x64)

  • .NET Framework 4.5.2

  • PowerShell 2.0

  • ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server

The prerequisite checker installs these updated versions if you select that option.
