4.6 Upgrading OpenText eDirectory on Windows

It is recommended not to directly upgrade eDirectory from version 8.8SP1 to 9.3.You must upgrade to 9.2 and then to 9.3. If you have an EBA enabled server then you must be on OpenText eDirectory 9.2.8 or 9.2.9 before upgrading to OpenText eDirectory 9.3.0.

If you have NMAS method installed already, then to upgrade OpenText eDirectory 9.30 it is required to extend the NMAS schema before upgrade. For more information see, NMAS Schema Extension before Upgrading OpenText eDirectory.

NOTE:To upgrade from a 32-bit version of OpenText eDirectory to a 64-bit version of OpenText eDirectory, first upgrade 32-bit version to eDirectory 8.8.x 64-bit version and then upgrade it to OpenText eDirectory 9.2. You can follow the same procedure for upgrading a 64-bit OpenText eDirectory to eDirectory 9.3.

The following sections provide information to help you upgrade your existing OpenText eDirectory installation to the current version.
