What’s New

The following feature changes were implemented in this release:

  • DRA now supports Windows Server 2016.

  • The DRA Reporting Database now features improved data collector performance.

NOTE:After installing this update, the ActiveView Group and User Accounts report and the ActiveView Groups report will no longer contain data. To view the data, you have two options:

    • You can wait for the DRA collector to run at its scheduled time, at which point the data will be available to generate the two reports mentioned earlier.

    • To view the reports immediately, you can manually run the DRA collector by navigating to Delegation & Configuration Console > Configuration Management > Update Reporting Configuration > DRA Collector.

System Requirements

This service pack includes a full version of DRA. For detailed information on hardware requirements and supported operating systems and browsers, see the NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator Installation Guide.

Installing This Version

This service pack includes a full version of DRA. You can install this version in a clean environment or upgrade an existing installation of the following:

  • DRA 9.0

  • DRA 9.0.1

  • DRA 9.0.2

For more information about version 9.0, see the Release Notes. For detailed information about installing Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator components and modules, see the NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator Installation Guide.

Installation Considerations

The following considerations apply when you install this version:

  • DRA no longer requires installation of Exchange Server management tools on the Administration server computer. To remotely manage an Exchange Server 2010 or 2013 server, DRA now requires only Powershell 2.0 and Windows Remote Management (WinRM) 2.0 to be installed on the Administration server.

Addressed Customer Issues

This release includes the following stabilizing fixes:

  • Resolved an issue that prevented you from using a local administration account to manage the computers in a workgroup. When managing a workgroup computer, do not fully qualify the access override account. For example, enter ‘administrator’ in the Access account field on the Add Managed Domain Wizard screen instead of ‘drdom800\administrator’. (ENG342797)

  • Removed the following mailbox powers from the Self Administration role:

    • Enable/Disable Exchange Mailbox Unified Messaging

    • Modify All Exchange Mailbox Features

    • Modify Exchange Mailbox Unified Messaging Properties

    (ENG247976)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented Assistant Administrators from adding a group to a group. (ENG252585)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented the addition of a user to the Mailbox Rights. (ENG341128)

  • Resolved an issue that would not allow you to create and save an Exchange Dynamic Distribution Group that has an empty space as part of a condition value. (ENG342105)

  • Resolved an issue that generated an error if a user logged onto a REST console on a workstation that had the Logon-Workstation attribute set. (ENG342430)

  • Resolved an issue that increased the memory usage of the DRA Administration Service while the DRA Collector was running. (ENG341908)

  • Resolved an issue that generated an error while using the REST Web Console to create a computer account. (ENG342080)

  • Resolved an issue that caused an inconsistency in the Total Updates field on the Account and Password Updates report. (ENG220573)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented you from setting the duration of an IACR for an Office 365 tenant to less than one hour. (ENG342023)

  • Resolved an issue that prevents file replication when the primary and secondary servers are in untrusted domains. (ENG235534)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented you from updating the users on one remote domain. (ENG341442)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented Assistant Administrators from using the Web Console to modify a user’s Mailbox Security. (ENG254641)

  • Resolved an issue that allowed DRA to rename users even if the Automatic user name configuration property is not set. (ENG342436)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented you from setting custom attributes on an account with email that is cloud-enabled. (ENG342068)

  • Resolved an issue that prevented the LogArchiveReportDataExporter from exporting data. (ENG342771)

  • Resolved an issue that set random characters in some built-in AV and AA rule buffers. (ENG342507)

  • Resolved an issue in which, when attempting to upgrade an unsupported version of DRA, the installer would install the new version on top of the existing version. With version 9.0.3, the upgrade will fail if it encounters an unsupported version of DRA. (ENG342940)

  • Resolved an issue in which servers installed with DRA 9.0.2 renamed a user’s account if the user was running a client installed with DRA 9.0. (ENG342896)
