16.1 Creating a Service Level

  1. In the Cloud Manager console, click Service Levels, then click the Service Levels tab.

  2. Click Create to display the Select Zone dialog box.

    The dialog box lists all of the zones in which you can create the service level. You must select the zone where the host group resides that you plan to associate with the service level.

  3. Select the desired zone, then click Select to display the Create Service Level dialog box.

  4. Provide the following details for the service level:

    Name: Specify a name for the service level. The name should be different than any other service level name.

    Zone: Displays the service level’s zone. You cannot change this setting.

    Host Group: Select the host group to associate with the service level. The host group determines the hardware provided for the service level. You can only select from the host groups associated with the zone.

    Creation Date: Displays the current date.

    Description: Provide any additional information for the service level.

  5. Add objectives to the service level:

    1. In the Service Level Objectives list, click Add to display the Add Service Level Objectives dialog box.

    2. Select the objectives to add.

      You can Shift-click and Ctrl-click to select multiple objectives. If you need to create a service level objective, save the current service level, create the objective, then edit the service level to add the objective. For information about creating objectives, see Section 16.4, Creating a Service Level Objective.

    3. Click Add to add the selected objectives to the Service Level Objectives list.

  6. Click Save.
