NetIQ Client Login Extension 4.4 Release Notes

NetIQ Client Login Extension 4.4 improves usability and functionality.

1.0 What’s New?

Client Login Extension 4.4 is released to support Self Service Password Reset 4.4.

The following sections outline the key enhancement and resolved issues in this release.

1.1 Security Enhancement

This release introduces the following security enhancement.

Dialog Boxes Are Closed On the Restricted Browser

From this release, all the dialog boxes displaying on the restricted browser are closed automatically by default. You can enable the necessary dialog boxes. For more information on how to enable the dialog box on the restricted browser, see Enabling Dialog Box On Restricted Browser in the NetIQ Client Login Extension Administration Guide.

1.2 Software Fixes

This release includes the following software fixes:

Auto Login Does Not Work In Windows 10

Issue: In Windows 10, when Client Login Extension is installed, the auto login feature stops working. This issue is fixed in this release. (Bug 1120766)

Emergency Access Cache Update Fails

Issue: The Emergency Access challenge questions and responses cache fails to update when the users are logged in remotely using a public network. This issue also occurs when the Virtual Private Network is not connected. It causes Emergency Access to stop working. From this release, the cache is updated when the following two registry keys are specified at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\MsPssGina location. (Bug 1112267).

  1. EAMaxCacheRetryCount=dword:00000005

  2. EACacheRetryTimeout=dword:00000005

The Client Login Extension Login with Kerberos Authentication Fails

Issue: Client Login Extension prompts user to re-authenticate after the user has authenticated using Kerberos and has configured the security questions for Self Service Password Reset. This issue is fixed in this release. (Bug 1092252)
