This hotfix requires NetIQ Change Guardian 4.1 SP 1 Hotfix 1 to be installed. If your environment uses a traditional installation, you must install it manually. If your environment uses an appliance, this will happen automatically.
This hotfix resolves specific previous issues. This document outlines why you should install this hotfix.
Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. We hope you continue to help us ensure that our products meet all your needs. You can post feedback in the Change Guardian forum on NetIQ Communities, our online community that also includes product information, blogs, and links to helpful resources.
This hotfix resolves the following issues.
Issue: The performance impact of storing and retrieving large numbers of delta attachments causes delta information to sometimes not be available for events. (Bug 914534)
Fix: Change Guardian now retrieves small delta information directly from the event store and queries attachments only for large delta values. As a result, retrieving delta information is more reliable.
After you install this hotfix, the missing delta attachments are available.
NOTE:In an environment where Change Guardian forwards events to a separate Sentinel server, Sentinel will require a similar fix. Please contact Technical Support to see whether this fix is publicly available yet.
To resolve an issue where the Change Guardian server does not respond to the Web console, this hotfix reduces the amount of logging for the Web server and message bus. (Bug 930474)
