1.0 What’s New?

This release of Advanced Analytics provides the following enhancements:

  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2: This release of Advanced Analytics provides an enhancement by providing support for TLS 1.2.

  • Adding an additional NAA Advanced Analytics Service (Threshold Engine): To overcome the workload on a single Advanced Analytics Service (threshold engine), it becomes necessary to add an additional threshold engine instance to the system and load balance some of the workload to the added engine. This release of Advanced Analytics provides an enhancement in NAA by providing a feature to add an additional NAA threshold engine. (ENG346126).

  • Dynamic or Static Control via AppManager Custom Properties: Dynamic or Static (DOS) threshold based monitoring enables NAA engine to instruct AppManager to fall back to using static thresholds for certain time series by dynamically changing AppManager custom properties. This release of Advanced Analytics provides an enhancement by providing DOS.

This release of Advanced Analytics resolves the following issues:

  • Advanced Analytics jobs stopping with an error status: This hotfix resolves an issue where there is no event being generated when jobs stop with an error status. With this hotfix, "AdvancedAnalytics_StatusEvents" and "AdvancedAnalytics_EventListener" Knowledge Scripts include a new parameter "QDB name,” (For policy jobs only, does not apply for ad hoc jobs). User needs to create a custom property for each agent (acting as an Advanced Analytics agent) which contains the corresponding QDB name, Create the KSG and override the parameter and apply KSG as a Monitoring Policy on a Management group that contains the NetIQ Advanced Analytics agents. (ENG341223)

  • NAA event created with wrong severity: This hotfix resolves an issue where NAA Engine incorrectly discovers servers in case of matching rules and causing event severity issue. (ENG343138)

  • More Descriptive Data Point Discovery Detail Message: This hotfix resolves an issue where in case of "Data Point Discovery" failures, the Event contains a generic message "Detailed message is: error results: general failure." and there is no decription of general failure. With this hotfix, NAA Engine adds more details in case of such failure. (ENG341037)

  • NAA discovery based on management groups not working in a large environment: This hotfix resolves an issue where NAA engine prints "discovery process <num> aborted" error messages when a rule that uses a management group contains large number of servers, such as 1000 servers. (ENG342241)

  • TS discovered via logical servers either match a wrong discovery rule or missing: This hotfix resolves an issue wherein the mode of discovering via logical servers, discovery module was incorrectly stripping off the KSG ID prefix from the KS name of a scanned job and TS object, causing the matching logic's failing to match that KS name against the rule's KS name. In addition, if another rule is defined with KS name not prefixed with KSG ID, the matching logic was matching the TS with this rule incorrectly. (ENG342272)
