11.1 Understanding the Configuration Portlet

The Configuration portlet connects the Operations Center Dashboard to the Reporting Center Web Service. The portlet allows you to specify the details of the Reporting Center Web Service from which the reports are retrieved.

The Configuration portlet can be added only once in a Dashboard page. Once the portlet is configured, the same configuration setting is applicable to all other pages in the Dashboard.

IMPORTANT:Only administrators and power users can add and view the Configuration portlet. For all other users, this portlet is not visible.

The following sections describe how to add and configure a Configuration portlet:

11.1.1 Adding a Configuration Portlet

To add a Configuration portlet:

  1. In the Operations Center Dashboard, click Add.

  2. Click Applications > Reporting Center.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Click the portlet and drag to a desired position on the page.

    • Click Add next to the portlet.

  4. Refresh the page after adding the Configuration portlet.

11.1.2 Configuring the Configuration Portlet

To configure the Configuration portlet:

  1. Specify the following:

    • URL: The address of the Reporting Center Web Service that you want to connect. The address should be in the http://servername/nrcwebservice/ACS.asmx format. For example: http://amdom.lab/nrcwebservice/acs.asmx.

      NOTE:The server name in the URL must be either FQDN or IP address.

    • Name: The user name in the Domain\Username format. For example: amdom\user1.

      IMPORTANT:The user should have an account in the Reporting Center. For more information on how to add an account in the Reporting Center, see Configuring Reporting Center Security in the Reporting Center Reporting Guide.

    • Password: The password to connect to the Reporting Center Web Service.

  2. Click Save.
