Analysis Center 3.0 includes the following new features and enhancements:
Reporting Console: Provides an user friendly reporting console that lets you enhance the look and feel of the reports. This console also includes the following features:
New AppManager report templates that you can use as a base to create your own reports:
Derivation Template: One-to-many template that you can use to derive multiple reports by manipulating the Cross Bound data presentation. For example: Aggregate Template, Day-of-the-Week template, Time-Range template.
For more information about deriving new reports from a single template, see the Deriving New Reports From Derivation Template section in NetIQ Analysis Center User Guide.
Non-Derivation Template: One-to-One template that you can use to generate a single report. For example: Compare template, GAP template.
Ability to derive reports from multidimensional Data Sources in addition to the existing functionality of deriving reports from two dimensional Data Sources.
In versions of Analysis Center prior to 3.0, you used the Analysis Center Console to generate reports. With this release, NetIQ recommends that you use the NetIQ Reporting Console to generate reports.
Admin Console: Provides a new administrative console that you can use to perform administrative tasks, such as managing Data Sources, managing data, and viewing jobs status. For more information about the administrative tasks, see NetIQ Analysis Center Administrator Guide.
Migrating Reports: Provides an option to migrate existing Analysis Center 2.9 reports to the new Reporting Console when you upgrade Analysis Center from version 2.9 to 3.0. For more information about migrating reports during upgrade, see Upgrading Analysis Center in the NetIQ Analysis Center Administrator Guide.
You can also migrate reports after upgrading to Analysis Center 3.0. To migrate reports post upgrade, export the reports through Analysis Center Console and then import them to Reporting Console. However, you must apply hotfix on the Analysis Center 2.8 and 2.9 setup before you export the reports. For more information, see Migrating Reports.

NetIQ Corporation strives to ensure our products provide quality solutions for your enterprise software needs. The following issues are currently being researched. If you need further assistance with any issue, please contact Technical Support.
Issue: If you install Analysis Center on a computer that does not have EnableLUA registry key, the installation fails with following error:
No instances of SQL Server detected
Workaround: Do the following to add the EnableLUA registry key and then proceed with the installation:
Run regedit.exe to open the Registry Editor.
Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Create a new DWORD with the following values:
Name: Specify EnableLUA
Data: Specify 0x00000000
Issue: If you want to upgrade Analysis Center and run the installer on a Windows Server 2003 computer that has Analysis Center 2.9 Data Extension and Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB2918614) installed, the installer fails to proceed.
Workaround: To enable the installer to proceed with the upgrade, you must uninstall this security update. For more information about this security update, see Microsoft Support website.
Issue: When you upgrade Analysis Center, the upgrade fails if the SQL Server Analysis Services, MSSQLServerOLAPService, is running using the domain name in the user@domain.com format.
Workaround: You must provide the domain name in the domain\user format.
Issue: For backward compatibility, Microsoft supports an undocumented user authentication methodology called Password Pass-Through. Although it might be possible to configure Analysis Center to work in environments with this connection methodology, NetIQ Corporation cannot verify that Analysis Center correctly works in such environments.
Workaround: None.
Issue: If you first install Analysis Center followed by AppManager or AppManager Control Center on the same computer, you must restart the computer before you remove any of the Analysis Center components. This is because removing the Analysis Center components without restarting the computer deletes the registry keys for AppManager and AppManager Control Center.
Workaround: None.
Issue: If you manipulate the data presentation of a Derivation template to derive a report with a large quantity of data, the console might take some time to respond.
Workaround: None.
