1.0 What’s New?

Advanced Authentication 5.6 Patch Update 3 provides the following enhancements and fixes in this release:

1.1 New Features and Enhancements

This release introduces the following features and enhancements:

Email Notification for Replication Status

Advanced Authentication allows you to configure the email address to receive reports about the replication status on a daily basis. An email notification is also sent whenever there are conflicts between the servers in a cluster. For more information see Replica Monitor in the Advanced Authentication - Administration guide.

Provision for Tracking the Heartbeat Time Stamp

Now, the Heartbeat column tracks the date and time of the last ping from each server in a cluster. The heartbeat of a server is highlighted in red, whenever a conflict is detected.

1.2 Software Fixes

Advanced Authentication 5.6 Patch Update 3 includes the following software fix:

Issue with RADIUS Authentication After Upgrade

Issue: After you upgrade to Advanced Authentication 5.6 Patch Update 2, if the group name contains non-US ASCII characters (For example: German or Russian characters), the RADIUS authentication fails for the users associated to the group.

Fix: Now, Group name can contain non-US ASCII characters and users are successfully authenticated on the RADIUS client.

Replication Conflicts

The following scenarios when happened simultaneously were causing a replication conflict:

  • The replication system stopped sending updates to other sites for a duration of two hours because of a network issue between the sites. In this scenario, if there were changes on other sites this resulted in a conflict and were not fixed automatically.

  • Updates are sent after a significant delay of 2 hours and changes were not replicated to the database because of the over load on the database (high CPU).

  • The resource intensive query in the database that checks the validity of a license caused an overload on the CPU.

  • Operating System reboot pauses the replication automatically for an approximate duration of two hours.

Fix: Now, these issues have been resolved.

NOTE:With the upgrade to 5.6 Patch Update 3, Advanced Authentication does not resolve the detected conflicts automatically. It is an administrator’s responsibility to analyze and decide the appropriate way to resolve the conflict.

Delay in Login for Users Associated With Numerous Groups

Issue: When users from a repository associated with numerous groups log in to any event, there may be a significant delay in authentication. The reason for the delay is that Advanced Authentication server first lists all the groups and searches for a group which is specified in the chain configuration.

Fix: Now, performance has been optimized to reduce the delay.
