AD Bridge 1.0 Release Notes

May 2019

AD Bridge 1.0 includes features for bridging Microsoft Active Directory (AD) on Windows servers with Linux distributions to manage Linux client configurations using Group Policy objects in the AD environment.

This release was made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. We hope you continue to help us ensure that our products meet all your needs. 1.0 System Requirements

This release includes a full version of AD Bridge. For detailed information on hardware requirements and supported operating systems, see the AD Bridge 1.0 System Requirements reference.

2.0 Installing This Version

The AD Bridge installation consists of two component installations that include a Linux install script package for all Linux client distributions that will be bridged with the AD environment and a Group Policy Management Console snap-in for the Windows domain. 3.0 Known Issues

3.1 Installation error: Couldn’t join realm

During installation of the AD Bridge Linux Agent on a SUSE Linux distribution, the following error displays after entering the password to join the AD domain: “Realm: Couldn't join realm: Enabling SSSD in nsswitch.conf and PAM failed.

Workaround. None required. The Linux Agent successfully joins the domain.
