NetIQ eDirectory 9.2.4 HF2 resolves several previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. 2.0 Installing or Upgrading

To upgrade to eDirectory 9.2.4 HF2, you need to be on eDirectory 9.2.4. To upgrade your eDirectory 9.2.4 server to 9.2.4 HF2, perform the following steps based on your platform:

2.1 Upgrading eDirectory on Linux as Root User

Run the following command to stop the eDirectory instance:
```
ndsmanage stopall
```
Download and extract the eDirectory-9.2.4-HF2.zip file.
Navigate to the <HF extracted location>/Linux directory.

Run the following command:

rpm -Uvh novell-NDSserv-9.2.4-1.x86_64.rpm novell-eba-9.2.4-0.x86_64.rpm

Run the following command to start the eDirectory instance:
```
ndsmanage startall
```

2.2 Upgrading eDirectory on Linux as Non-Root User

Run the following command to stop the eDirectory instance:
```
ndsmanage stopall
```
Download eDirectory-9.2.4-HF2.zip and extract the nonroot.tar.gz as a non-root user.
As a non-root user, replace the eDirectory/opt/novell folder with the novell folder available at <HF extracted location>/eDirectory-9.2.4-HF2/Linux/eDirectory/opt/ directory.
Run the following command to start the eDirectory instance:
```
ndsmanage startall
```

2.3 Upgrading eDirectory on Windows

Stop the eDirectory instance.
Download and extract the eDirectory-9.2.4-HF2.zip file.
Navigate to the <extracted location>\Windows directory.
Copy ebaLDAP.dll, LDAPXS.dll, nldap.dlm files to the eDirectory installation path. For example, C:\NetIQ\eDirectory.
Start the eDirectory instance.

2.4 Upgrading eDirectory Container Using Docker

docker exec -it -u root <containername> /bin/bash

Run the following command to stop the eDirectory instance:
```
ndsmanage stopall
```
Download and extract the eDirectory-9.2.4-HF2.zip file.
Navigate to the <HF extracted location>/Linux directory.

Run the following commands:

rpm -Uvh novell-NDSserv-9.2.4-1.x86_64.rpm

rpm –Uvh novell-eba-9.2.4-0.x86_64.rpm

Run the following command to start the eDirectory instance:
```
ndsmanage startall
```
Exit from the eDirectory container.

NOTE:

We are shipping a preview version of Docker Container-based deployment with eDirectory 9.2.4 HF2 for customers to use and provide feedback. Customers wishing to deploy in production will be supported only with a Professional Services engagement. You must login as a root user only while upgrading the eDirectory container. Once the upgrade process has been completed, you can login as a non-root user.
