Sentinel 使用由作業系統提供的 Mozilla NSS 文件庫。Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 和 SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 使用不同的 NSS 套件組合。
由 RHEL 6.2 提供的 NSS 加密模組是經過 FIPS 140-2 驗證。由 SLES 11 SP2 提供的 NSS 加密模組尚未正式經過 FIPS 140-2 驗證，但是我們目前正致力讓 SUSE 模組通過 FIPS 140-2 驗證。此驗證一旦可以使用，預期不需要進行任何 Sentinel 變更即可在 SUSE 平台上提供 'FIPS 140-2 Inside'。

Sentinel 必須有以下 64 位元 NSS 套件才能支援 FIPS 140-2 模式：
