1.0 Documentation Updates

The following changes have been made to this document since the release of PlateSpin Migrate 12.3 Patch Update 1.

1.1 October 2018

2.0 What’s New for Migrate Server in Azure Cloud

PlateSpin Migrate 12.3 with Patch Update 1 (P1) applied is now available in Microsoft Azure Cloud.

3.0 Resolved Issues

PlateSpin Migrate 12.3 Patch Update 1 resolves three known issues for PlateSpin Migrate Server 12.3.

3.1 Migrate Agent for Linux Fails to Register a Linux Workload If the Migrate Server Host OS Allows Only TLS 1.2 Connections

Issue: Migrate Agent for Linux does not support connections using Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 for secure connections. If the Migrate Server host operating system allows only TLS 1.2 connections, Migrate Agent for Linux cannot connect to Migrate Server, and the registration attempt fails for the source Linux workload. If the Migrate Server host OS enables TLS 1.0 and 1.1, Migrate Agent for Linux can connect to Migrate Server, and registration succeeds for the source Linux workload. (Bug 1108248)

Fix: Migrate Agent for Linux has been updated to use TLS/SSL libraries that support TLS 1.2 connections. Migrate Agent for Linux connects to Migrate Server using TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, or TLS 1.2, depending on the TLS settings for the Migrate Server host operating system.

After you apply PlateSpin Migrate 12.3 Patch Update, use the Downloads tab in the Migrate Web Interface to download the updated Migrate Agent for Linux file to source Linux workloads.

3.2 Workload Configuration Through PlateSpin REST API Fails If Workload Has Non-Volume Storage

Issue: Migration configuration settings sent to Migrate Server by using the PlateSpin REST API fail if the workload storage details include non-volume storage partitions. Migrate Server returns the following error message:

Code: 500
Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This issue occurs only for the PlateSpin REST API. Migrate Server successfully configures workloads with non-volume space for configuration settings received through PlateSpin Migrate Web Interface and PlateSpin Migrate Client. (Bug 1109022)

Fix: Migrate Server successfully configures workloads with non-volume space information received through PlateSpin REST API.

3.3 [AWS] Cutover Fails If Subsequent Full Replication Runs at Cutover with Both Source and Target Workload Shut Down Enabled

Issue: For migrations to Amazon Web Services, after a successful first full replication and test cutover, the workload cutover fails with the following execution options:

Replication Method: Full Replication
Post-Replication Cutover: Run cutover after successful Replication
  [*] Shutdown source after cutover
  [*] Shutdown target after cutover

The issue occurs when the workload is in a Replicated state and Full Replication is selected for Cutover with both shutdown options enabled. Cutover completes successfully in this migration scenario if the Replication Method is set to Incremental Replication instead. (Bug 1106827)

Fix: Cutover completes successfully after the subsequent full replication, and both the source workload and target workload are shut down after cutover.
