Situation

How to suppress the Credential Provider Login option if the feature is not being used
PAM Credential Provider Login option is displayed in Windows user selection
When logging in directly to Windows a Remote Desktop Client and then selecting Lock for the session, the default Login Prompt that is seen is for PAM Credential Provider and it shows the User as "Unknown"

Resolution

If the Credential Provider feature in PAM is not used or needed, then please follow the steps below to suppress this login option:

  1. On the Windows Agent(s), navigate to the following folder:

    <install_path>\netiq\npum\bin
    C:\Program Files\Netiq\npum\bin

  2. Rename the following file:

    Pumcredprov.dll -> disabled_Pumcredprov.dll
    Note: Renaming to any unused filename should work, the above is just an example.

  3. Restart the PAM service on Windows.
