Situation
After upgrading from IDM 4.6 to IDM 4.7 the Data Collection Service Driver will not start.
The following error is seen in a Level 3 startup trace of the driver:
Exception while initializing Batch Manager : org.mapdb.DBException$WrongFormat: Wrong file header, not MapDB file
The following error is seen in a Level 3 startup trace of the driver:
Exception while initializing Batch Manager : org.mapdb.DBException$WrongFormat: Wrong file header, not MapDB file
Resolution
Per the NetIQ Identity Manager 4.7 Release Notes
Section 6.2 Manually Removing the MapDB Cache Files
The following MapDB State Cache Files need to be removed for the Data Collection Services driver:
DCSDriver_<driver instance guid>-*
<driver instance guid>-*
You can get the GUID of the Data Collection Service Driver, by editing the properties of the driver iManager, then selecting the general tab and then the GUID attribute in the list
Note that these files may or may not include extensions added to them.
Once the state files have been removed, then you should be able to start the driver.
