Situation

Customer is not able to complete a full replication on a Linux server. The workload failed at copying the data. Inspection of the diagnostics showed the following error:

Grub2Info::GetEnvConfigFilePath(): Cannot determine the location of the grubenv config file

Resolution

Look for modifications or errors in the GRUB2 (the Linux boot loader). In this particular instance the customer had a custom boot configuration that was overwritten by the installation of OS patches.

Cause

Changes in the boot configuration due to the patches produced an invalid boot configuration.
