Windows 2008 R2 Cluster full replication fails with 'Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of an Object'

This document (7008771) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

PlateSpin Forge 3.x
PlateSpin Protect 10.x

Situation

After the node of a Windows 2008 R2 cluster flips, the subsquent full replication or initial full sync replication fails with:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Resolution

This issue occurs only on contracts that have been set up via the 'sync to an existing VM' method.

To resolve this issue for an initial full sync to VM job remove and re-add the workload, ensure that the active cluster node does not flip prior to executing the full sync job.

To resolve this issue after the initial full sync to VM job has been run, perform an incremental replication job. Once the incremental is complete, the full replication will succeed.
