New features in PlateSpin Migrate 11

PlateSpin® Migrate 11 adds the following new features:

Support for new workloads

The addition of support for migrations of multiple new workloads expands the already market-leading range of workloads supported by PlateSpin Migrate. New supported workloads include:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 clusters
  • Windows 8.1
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1, SP2, and SP3
  • Open Enterprise Server (OES) 11 SP1 and SP2
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) 5.9, 5.10, 6.4, 6.5

Support for new hypervisors

  • Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V
  • vSphere 5.0, 5.1, and 5.5
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 XEN (for fully virtualized VMs)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 KVM
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 KVM

Support for new hardware

PlateSpin Migrate 11 introduces support for UEFI based firmware for windows workload. Migrate allows workload migration from old BIOS firmware to the latest UEFI firmware hardware which is essential for hardware migration projects. This also enable full GPT volume support in Migrate 11.

Command line interface

The new command line interface makes it easy to bypass the graphical user interface to process a single migration using command line options, or multiple migrations using scripts. Automate multiple migrations quickly and easily by processing a single script.
