Symptom
The Group Policy Guardian (GPG) Console displays an incorrect expiration date for new GPG licenses that have a fixed duration.
Symptom
GPG does not honor licenses for unlimited users or overdraft users.
cause
This is a known issue that may occur if you have a new GPG license with a fixed duration or a GPG license for unlimited users or overdraft users.
Fix
Group Policy Guardian version 2.0 SP1 Hotfix 51698 addresses this issue.
This hotfix addresses an issue where the Group Policy Guardian (GPG) Console provides an incorrect expiration date for new GPG licenses that have a fixed duration. This hotfix also addresses an issue where GPG does not honor licenses for unlimited users or overdraft users. GPG now provides the correct expiration date for new licenses with an expiration date and honors licenses for both unlimited and overdraft users. The GPG Console now also indicates the number of overdraft users available, the expiration date of any license grace period, and provides a warning if the license is using overdraft users or is in the license grace period.
Note: This hotfix requires GPG version 2.0 SP1.
To install this hotfix, run the GPG20001_Hotfix51698.exe file on the GPG Reporting computer and any GPG Console computers.
This hotfix modifies files in the GPG installation folder. By default, this folder is \Program Files\NetIQ\Group Policy Guardian.
The following files are modified on the GPG Reporting computer:
- \bin\faReportEngine.dll
- \Web Report App\LicenseViolation.aspx
- \Web Report App\bin\Report.dll
The following files are modified on the GPG Console computer:
- \Console Application\faGpgSnapin.dll
- \Console Application\LicConv.dll
