Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.0

symptom
Partial list of Exchange 2000/2003 servers are displayed in the 32 bit GUI interfaces.

cause
This issue is caused because the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) 7.0 32 bit GUI asks the Administration server for the list of Exchange servers.  The Exchange server list is retrieved.  If the number of servers exceeds the buffer, the UI is not going back and retrieving the additional list of Exchange servers.

fix

This issue is addressed in NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 7.0 SP1 Hotfix 36109.

Hotfix 36109 ensures the user interfaces installed on client computers correctly display all the available Exchange 2000 or later servers on which a mailbox can be created. In environments containing numerous Exchange 2000 or later servers, the user interfaces could display a subset of the available servers. Hotfix 36109 corrects the user interface display limitation.

Note: This hotfix requires DRA version 7.0.

To download and install this hotfix:

  1. Run the DRA70000_Hotfix36109.msi file on each computer where you installed the Delegation and Configuration and Account and Resource Management consoles.

This hotfix modifies the NetIQ.DRA.Console.Accounts.dll file on your DRA client computers. By default, this file is located in the Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.
