Domain Migration Administrator 7.x

fix

Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) allows you to rename workstations using the Rename Workstations wizard either before or after the computer is migrated. If you are migrating Windows NT 4.0 workstations, they can be renamed using database modeling, during the actual migration of the computer accounts. DMA also provides a script trigger for launching a pre-migration or post-migration script.  However, operating system limitations do not allow Windows 2000 and later computers to be renamed and joined to a new domain at the same time.  Renaming the computer, and changing the computer's domain affiliation each require a reboot, and must be done in separate steps.  Therefore, you cannot use a pre-/post-migration trigger or database modeling to rename a Windows 2000 or later computer while it is being migrated.
