To update the public folder permissions, follow these steps:

1. Confirm that the source MAPI profile is able to view all of the source Public Folders you are planning to translate.
2. Replicate the Public Folders to the target site (this is different from the Directory Replication). This is done through the properties of the Public Folders in the Exchange 5.5 Admin tool, on the Replica tab. Set up the source Public Folders to replicate to the target site. It is critical that replication occurs correctly and completely.
3. Click the Project name.
4. Right click and select Update Source Public Folder Permissions.
5. Complete the wizard.
