6.3 Configuring Disk Space Usage

If secondary storage is enabled, Sentinel copies the data to the secondary storage location after two days, and a local copy remains until space is available. Sentinel moves the raw data to the secondary storage location after approximately one hour.

  1. Log in to the Sentinel Web interface as a user in the administrator role.

  2. Click Storage > Configuration.

In the Disk Space Usage section, the Primary storage size field displays the total storage size currently used by Sentinel.

  3. Specify the primary storage utilization value:

    • Specify a value to start deleting the data storage from primary storage when the specified value is reached.

    • Specify a value to stop deleting the data storage from primary storage when the specified value is reached.

These are the settings at which Sentinel starts (and stops) deleting the duplicate data files that are in primary storage. Sentinel keeps the copies in the primary storage, until this disk usage threshold is reached, to speed up searches and reports. When the threshold is reached and files are deleted, the secondary storage becomes the sole location for the data.

The Secondary storage size field specifies the value of the secondary storage space.

  4. Specify the maximum archive size to be used as part of the total available archive size.
