1.2 Architecture

SSPR consists of the following components:

  • Web Server: To deploy SSPR.

  • Back-end Information Directory: To store information. For example, Active Directory, eDirectory, and Oracle Directory Server.

  • Database: To store users’ information.

    Apache Derby is the default database.

  • User Interfaces: Web interfaces that a user accesses.

  • Configuration Manager/ Configuration Editor: Web interface that you, as an administrator, can use to configure SSPR.

    The Configuration Manager enables you to view recent log events, download the current xml configuration file, and export/ import the contents of the local database.

    The Configuration Editor enables you to configure all the SSPR settings. If you want SSPR to remember the Configuration Editor login password, you need to select the Remember the configuration password for 1 hour checkbox.
