The Security Manager Self-monitoring module monitors the performance of Security Manager components to ensure efficient operations. This module detects, alerts on, and automatically responds to critical events, and helps indicate, correct, and prevent possible service outages or configuration problems so you can quickly take corrective or preventive actions. Improvements are made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. We hope you continue to help us ensure our products meet all your needs. Why Install This Module?This release of the Security Manager Self-monitoring module contains various improvements to address functional and performance issues. Provides Sentinel Connection Monitoring CapabilityThis release adds the following event processing rules to inform you about communication issues between the Security Manager 6.5.4 central computer and the Sentinel 7.0 server:
These three rules generate alerts when the central computer cannot communicate with the configured Sentinel server or when the central computer re-establishes the connection. Removes Reporting Cube Event RuleTo reduce unnecessary alert noise in environments where you did not installing the reporting server, this release disables the "Security Manager Cube Database not found" event rule included in the Security Manager Self-monitoring > Database rules set. (ENG312733) Installing This ModuleThe Security Manager setup program automatically installs this module. However, if an updated module becomes available, you can install this module using the Module Installer. NetIQ recommends that you regularly check for and install updated versions of the Security Manager Self-monitoring module to ensure Security Manager has full functionality.
