13.1 Microsoft SQL Server Endpoint Deployment Checklist

Complete the following steps to deploy your SQL Server endpoints.

 

Checklist Items

  1. Ensure that the Windows agent version supports the SQL Server endpoints you want to manage. For more information, see the NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager Technical Information web page.

  1. Ensure that your environment meets the specified requirements for installing the Windows agent and the SQL Server component. For more information, see Windows Agent Computer Requirements and Planning Microsoft SQL Server Endpoint Deployment.

  1. Install the Windows agent locally or deploy the agent to remote agent computers, including the SQL Server component if you are installing the Windows agent manually. For more information, see Section 8.0, Installing or Updating an Agent on a Local Computer and Section 7.0, Installing or Updating Agents on Remote Computers.

  1. Install the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 on the Windows agent computer.

  1. Add the SQL Server endpoints that you want to audit to the registered Windows agent. For more information, see Adding SQL Server Endpoints in Secure Configuration Manager.
