The Windows agent 7.1 can manage multiple types of network devices. Secure Configuration Manager categorizes the endpoint as generic network device unless it is one of the following routers:
Cisco IOS 15.0M
Juniper Junos 10.x
Juniper Junos 9.x
Juniper Junos 8.x
NOTE:To collect data from a network device, you must use a Windows proxy agent. For more information about managing by proxy, see Understanding Management by Proxy.
The network device endpoint type is essentially a subcomponent of the Windows agent, but has the same registration and management functions as the Windows agent, but only with proxy support.
