If you do not have a valid license key, you can install Secure Configuration Manager for a 30-day trial. You can upgrade a trial environment to full production mode simply by changing the license key. For more information about license keys, see Understanding Licensing.
As a best practice, NetIQ recommends creating a trial environment similar to your intended production environment. For example, install the database on a separate computer from the Core Services and Windows console computers. However, you can install all components on one computer to run the trial.
