This patch updates NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager UNIX Agent (UNIX agent) version 7.4. This document outlines why you should install this patch.

This patch updates the Secure Configuration Manager UNIX Agent 7.4 with the following scripts which are used to enable security checks:
unix_samba_config.sh - This script enables the Validate Samba configuration file check.
unix_network_process_status.sh - This script enables the Verify remote access services setting check.
unix_pwck.sh - This script enables the Verify if the password is stored in shadow file check.
Unix_IPforward.sh - This script enables the Verify if IP forwarding is enabled check.
unix_acl.sh - This script enables the Verify if the sticky bit is set on all world-writable directories check.
This patch requires the following product versions:
NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager 6.2
NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager UNIX Agent 7.4
To update the agent using the UNIX Agent Manager:
Click Patch > Patch Manager.
Click Load Patch to add the p74p12 patch to the list of available patches.
Select the computers on which you want to apply the patch.
Select the patch.
Click Start Install.
Click Back to close the Patch Manager.
To verify that the installation was successful:
Click Patch > Patch Manager.
Select the host in which the patch is applied.
Click Patch History.
Verify that patch(7.4.0.12) is listed in the Applied Patches list.
To uninstall this patch:
Click Patch > Patch Manager.
Select the host in which the patch is applied.
Click Uninstall Patch.
Select patch(7.4.0.12).
Click Start Uninstall.
This patch does not modify any file.
This patch adds the following script files to the /usr/netiq/cmnagent/script directory:

unix_network_process_status.sh
unix_pwck.sh
Unix_IPforward.sh
unix_acl.sh
