If you do not have a valid license key, you can install Secure Configuration Manager for a 30-day trial. You can upgrade a trial environment to full production mode simply by changing the license key. For more information about license keys, see Section 2.2, Licensing.
As a best practice, NetIQ Corporation recommends creating a trial environment similar to your intended production one. For example, install the database on a separate computer from the Core Services and console computers. However, you can install all components on one computer to run the trial. For more information about selecting the appropriate location to install the components, see Section 2.5.1, Supported Configurations.
