4.9 Viewing Firewall Settings

Use the Firewall page to view your current firewall configuration directly from the appliance. By default, all ports are blocked except those needed by the appliance. For example, the Login page for the appliance management console uses port 9443, so this port is open by default. The SAM appliance uses port 8443 for both inbound and outbound communication, and Psearchservice uses port 8444, so those ports are also open. To have a seamless experience with the appliance, ensure that you do not block the ports with your firewall settings.

To view firewall settings for the appliance:

  1. Log in to the appliance management console as the vaadmin user.

  2. Click Firewall.

    The Firewall page lists port numbers with the current status of each port number. The page is for informational purposes and is not editable.

  3. Click Close to exit the Firewall page.
