Adding a Target

IMPORTANT:Before adding a target, it is required to create a discovery rule in the Configuration tab.

  1. On the home page, click Credential Vault > Discover & Onboard.

    The Targets page is displayed.

  2. Click Add > Add Target.

  3. Perform the following on the Add Target window:

    • Select Type. Available options are ssh and windows.

    • Specify the name of Target in Name.

    • Select the preferred rule from Discovery Rules.

      NOTE:The rules added in the Configuration tab gets displayed in the Discovery Rules list. The rules are filtered based on the type of the target. However, if custom rules are not added then you can use the default rule.

      For example, If the Type is set to SSH then SSH related rules are displayed in the Discovery Rules list.

    • Specify the IP address of target in Address.

    • Default port number is set in Port according to the target type as follows:

      • Windows: 5985

      • SSH: 22

    • Select Enable Domain Account and select the preferred domain from Select Active Directory Domain to synchronize the account details from AD. This is applicable for Windows.

      NOTE:Ensure to create an Active Directory in Vault and then it has to be mapped to the target. Even though the domain is mapped to a Windows target, the discovery is performed to identify the windows host accounts only.

    • Specify Username and Password of the reconcile account to access the target.

  4. Click Add.
