4.0 Configuring External Authentication

Through external authentication, Privileged Access Manager adds the following capabilities:

  • Authentication through an LDAP system: LDAP user authentication is the process of validating a username and password combination with a directory server such as Windows Active Directory, NetIQ eDirectory, and OpenLDAP.

  • Multifactor authentication: Privileged Access Manager integrates with NetIQ Advanced Authentication to provide secure access to the following resources by using multi-factor authentication methods:

    • Privileged Access Manager endpoints (systems, applications, databases, keys)

    • Administration Console

    • Privileged credential to connect to a server (credential checkout and shared key checkout)

    • Authentication through third-party RADIUS servers, such as Duo, RSA, Gemalto, and Yubico
