PlateSpin checks if a source workload is reachable by using a network ping for the workload at regular intervals. If the check consecutively fails for a specified number of attempts, then PlateSpin shows the workload as being offline in the Web Interface. The detection interval and number of consecutive failed attempts are configurable for each workload as part of setting up its Protection contract.
