2.5 Reinstalling Operations Center to a Server

To reinstall Operations Center to a Server:

  1. Before reinstalling Operations Center software, back up the following directories under the existing Operations Center installation directory:

    • database: A repository for all new services, sites, scripts, and so on that are created by administrators.

    • config: Properties files.

    • html/images: Custom images.

    • webapps: Custom JSP Web pages.

    • classes/ext

    A new Operations Center software installation overwrites only the following items:

    /OperationsCenter_install_path/database/examples

    This directory might contain old examples that need to be updated with newer examples provided by Operations Center to increase flexibility.

    /OperationsCenter_install_path/database/scripts

    This directory might contain old examples that need to be updated with new examples provided by Operations Center to maximize Managed Object’s flexibility regarding right-click operations and automation.

    /OperationsCenter_install_path/html/applet_params.xml

    /OperationsCenter_install_path/html/index.jsp

    The /OperationsCenter_install_path/html directory might contain changes to Operations Center software.

  2. To reinstall Operations Center software, save a copy of the /OperationsCenter_install_path/config/license.dat file for use during the reinstallation process.

  3. Before reinstalling Operations Center software, stop Operations Center software and all its components, including the mosdaemon, and all servers.
