13.3 Enabling the Dashboard for Section 508 Accessibility

Section 508 requires that Federal agencies’ electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. The Operations Center Dashboard provides Section 508 compliance and compatibility whenever possible.

The following technical considerations apply when using the Dashboard with Section 508 accessibility enabled:

  • Access the Dashboard using Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox when Section 508 accessibility is enabled.

  • Enabling 508 accessibility in Operations Center changes the default appearance of some portlet content to be compliant with Section 508 standards. For example, it might enable features to be compliant in color dependence.

  • Alarm summary charts, in the Information portlet, are not 508 compliant. The Information portlet is not 508 compliant when CSS is disabled.
