12.6 Performing System Recovery

If the Operations Center server stops, the following occurs:

  • The Dashboard continues to function for users already logged in, but data from Operations Center is not available. Operations Center portlets display a message stating that the Operations Center server is not accessible. After the Operations Center server restarts, users must log out of the Dashboard and log in again in order to see Operations Center data.

  • Users who were not logged in before the server stopped cannot log in to the Dashboard until the Operations Center server is back up.

  • The Access Control Synchronizer stops and user accounts are not synchronized until the Operations Center server has come back up.

If the Dashboard Web server stops for any reason, when it restarts, it identifies all users who were logged in to the Dashboard at the time of stoppage and logs them out of the Operations Center server. It then begins working as usual. For errors that can be logged in the trace file if the Dashboard Web server stops while writing data, see Section D.1.2, Data Dispatcher Exception – Broken Pipe.
