Section 508 requires that Federal agencies’ electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. The Operations Center Dashboard provides Section 508 compliance and compatibility whenever possible.
The following technical considerations apply when using the Dashboard with Section 508 Accessibility enabled:
Access the Dashboard using Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox when Section 508 Accessibility is enabled.
Enabling 508 accessibility in Operations Center changes the default appearance of some portlet content to be compliant with Section 508 standards. For example, it might enable features to be compliant in color dependance.
Alarm summary charts, in the Information portlet, are not 508 compliant. The Information portlet is not 508 compliant when CSS is disabled.
To enable the Dashboard for 508 accessible functionality:
To enable accessibility options in Operations Center for one or more users:
From the Operations Center console, expand
> > .Right-click the user’s account, and select

.Select the Enable Accessibility Options check box and .
Repeat these steps for each user.
To enable accessibility options in Operations Center for your own account, do the following:
From the Operations Center console, click Enable Accessibility Options.
and selectDo the following to select the Dashboard 508 theme:
In the Dashboard, do one of the following:
Click
(in the top right corner) and select .From the list of pages on the left, select the desired page To change the theme for all pages, click the community name (top level page).
Navigate to the desired Dashboard page.
Click
(in the top right corner) and select .Click the
tab.Select the 508 Accessibility theme.
Repeat for each page that needs to be 508 accessible.
Note that when a theme is selected for a page, it applies for all users.
